Davis Paces Falcons During First Round Of MAC Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team began play at the Mid-American Conference Championship on Friday (April 22) in Holland, Ohio. This year's MAC Championship is being played at Stone Oak Country Club where Kayla Davis logged the best round for BGSU during the first 18 holes with 13 pars, tied for second in the field of 50.
Davis ended the day strong with back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18, ending the day one under par. Her score of 71 puts her in third place after the first of three days in Holland. Davis registered a score of -1 on par fours for the day, tied for the best score on such as one of just two players in the field to be under par on par fours. Davis complimented that play on par fives as well, being one under par there as well.
As a team, the Falcons are in the middle of the pack, tied for sixth, after the first day of golf. The Falcons tied for the second-best score on par fours at +21 and were fourth for birdies with 12. The Orange and Brown will begin teeing off at 10:40 on Saturday (April 23) with a new pairing scheduled every 10 minutes. Bowling Green will be playing alongside Akron and Central Michigan.
