Falcons Split Between SPIRE and Penn State This Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons Track and Field team will split for the first time this season, competing at the Penn State National Open and SPIRE Collegiate Invite. Falcons who travel to Penn State will compete on Jan. 27-28 at the Multi-Sport Facility and Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track in University Park, Pa. Falcons who travel SPIRE will compete on Jan. 27 at the SPIRE Academy Indoor Track and Field Facility in Geneva, Ohio.

Penn State National Open Information
The Penn State National Open will be split into two days of competition, beginning on Friday, Jan. 27, then continuing on Saturday, Jan. 28. Live results for the meet are available HERE. A live stream of the meet will be available on the Big Ten Network Plus, found HERE. Subscription is required.

SPIRE Collegiate Invite Information
This will be the inaugural collegiate invitational track meet hosted by the SPIRE Institute. The meet will be held at the SPIRE Academy's indoor track facility in Geneva, Ohio. General admission tickets are $5, credit card payments will be accepted at the event. Parking is available for free in lots surrounding the facility. Live results can be found HERE.

Bowling Green's Previous Weekend
The Falcons enjoyed a successful weekend at the YSU Collegiate Invite. Senior Brianna Richard won the long jump with a mark of 19-6.25, a personal record that ranks third in program history. Also registering a PR in the long jump was Morgan Patterson, who placed third. Sabrina Imes added her own third place finish in the triple jump with a mark that matched her PR. Grace Bradtmueller, Lane Anderson, and Jenna Lucas all threw a PR in the shot put. Bradtmueller and Anderson also added PRs in the weight throw, an event that saw Mateya Haintz place fourth. The 4x400 relay team of Darian Braddix, DaMya Barker, Ashley Kisor, and Bianca Staples capped the day with a second-place finish for BGSU, running in 3:54.19, the fastest time of the season for the Orange and Brown.

The Falcons will travel east to compete in the Akron Invite, hosted by the University of Akron on Feb. 3-4.
