Falcons Start 2023-24 Campaign with Series Against The Colonials

Sunday serves as home opener; will be Orange Out
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons are slated to begin the 2023-24 hockey season with a non-conference, home-and-home series with the Robert Morris Colonials. The series starts on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Clearview Arena in Moon Township, Pa, puck drop set for 7:07 p.m. The action continues Sunday, Oct. 8 for the Falcon's Home Opener in Slater Family Ice Arena, puck drop set for 5:07p.m. It will be an Orange Out.

Both games will be streamed on FloHockey. Subscription is required for the streaming service. Sunday's game will have live radio coverage on 88.1 FM WBGU. Live stats for Saturday and Sunday are available. The games will also have live updates on Bowling Green Hockey's official Twitter page, @BGSUHKY.
Ticket and Parking Information
Robert Morris returns to the ice after two years. They finished 10th in the Atlantic Hockey Association Preseason Coaches' Poll. In the last season they were active, the Colonials finished 10-5 in conference play and were 15-9 overall in 2020-21. Coach Derek Scholley brought back six returners from the prior year and added 23 new players to the roster, mixing from freshmen and transfers.

The all-time series favors the Falcons 5-1-1. The teams last met in December of 2020 in a home-and-home series, the Falcons won both contests. The lone lost for the Falcons, was October 12 of 2018 (2-3).

Bowling Green plays an away series when they face Augustana in their inaugural season. The series starts Saturday, Oct. 14 in Sioux Falls, S.D. at 7:07 p.m. On Sunday, Oct. 15 the Falcons and Vikings face off in Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, puck drop set for 6:07 p.m.

- Tickets for Sunday's home opener are still available starting at $15.
- Day of Parking (Pre-Paid or Credit/Cash Day of) no changes to Traffic Patterns from previous years.
- Traffic will turn right off of Northbound (From Wooster St) Mercer onto Stadium for Ice Arena Parking Lot.
- Traffic will turn left off of Southbound (From Poe Rd) to Mercer onto the Stadium for Ice Arena Parking Lot.
- Traffic will turn right for Southbound or left for Northbound into the Perry Field House Parking Lot.
- NEW Parking for Falcon Club will be entering off of Mercer Road.
- Traffic for Falcon Club must come Northbound (From Wooster St) on Mercer and turn right into the Ice Arena Lot from Mercer Rd.
- There will be NO Left turn on Southbound Mercer (From Poe) into the Falcon Club Entrance.
- Junior Forward, Ryan O'Hara (11 goals 19 assists) finished third on the 2022-23 squad with most point production (30 pts).
- Junior Goaltender, Christian Stoever is ranked 10th nationally in all-time saves (1,568). Stoever finished the 2022-23 season with a .914 save percentage.
- The 2023-24 roster features 12 new faces, including transfers Josh Nodler, Spencer Kersten, Owen Ozar, and Tommy Pasanen. The freshmen class tabs four defensemen Nick O'Hanisain, Gustav Stjernberg, Michael Bevilacqua, Breck McKinley. Forwards are Brody Waters Brandon Santa Juana, Ben Doran and Cole Moore in the goal.
- Bowling Green was tabbed to finish third in the CCHA Preseason Coaches' Poll with 55 votes. Junior forward Ben Wozney was named Preseason ALL-CCHA.
