Falcons Open The Season With A Victory Over The Colonials

Pittsburgh, Pa – – The Bowling Green Falcons opened the 2023-24 season capturing a 3-0 win over the Robert Morris Colonials. New Falcons made their name known in the season opener, including Spencer Kersten who only took 51 seconds to tab a goal at Clearview Arena. While returners Dalton Norris scored on a power-play and Ben Wozney added a tally with an open net shot. Christian Stoever stopped 27-of-27 shots, denying the Colonials of chances on power-plays.

Scoring Plays
- Spencer Kersten found the back of the net in first 51 seconds of the game, also being his first goal in the Orange and Brown. Assist came from Dalton Norris and Brett Pfoh. Norris long shot from the point and Kersten rebounded to place it in the back of the net at 19:09 in the first period.
- Dalton Norris followed later in the first period, when he scored on a power-play. Ryan O'Hara and Owen Ozar tabbed the assist for the Norris goal. Norris rebounded his own shot from the point to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead at 7:20 in the first period.
- Ben Wozney scored last to secure the win for the Falcons at 2:28 in the 3rd period. Wozney had a long shot from behind the Falcons net, hitting off the back board and gliding into the empty RMU net.
- Spencer Kersten recorded his first goal as a Falcon, making it his 16th career goal. Kersten also added 10 face off wins.
- Dalton Norris tallied a goal and an assist, the goal adding as a power play goal. The third power play goal of his career. Ryan O'Hara and Owen Ozar both tabbed assist.
- Ben Wozney added his third career goal.
- Christian Stoever spent the entire game in the net, making 27 saves.
- Nick O'Hanisain, Michael Bevilacqua, Brandon Santa Juana, Ben Doran, Brody Waters, and Breck McKinley all made their collegiate debuts.
- Josh Nodler, Spencer Kersten, and Owen Ozar played their first games for Bowling Green.
