Falcons Soar to Upstate New York
• Bowling Green State University concludes its three-game road swing on Saturday in the Empire State when the Falcons visit the Buffalo Bulls in MACtion.
• It is the 21st meeting between the Falcons and the Bulls and just the eighth meeting with Buffalo prior to the month of November. The 2000, 2001, 2005, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2021 and 2022 seasons are the other years.
• The game will kick at 3:30 p.m. and be broadcast live on ESPN+.

• Bowling Green continues Mid-American Conference action on Saturday against Buffalo.
• BGSU leads the all-time series with UB, 12-8, who has been in the MAC since 2000.
• Bowling Green is 4-1 against UB when the Falcons hold the Bulls below 300 yards of total offense.Â
• Bowling Green is 10-4 against UB when the Falcons accumulate 350+ yards of total offense.
• Bowling Green is 5-1 against UB when the Falcons win the turnover battle. They are 4-5 when they don't.
Five Top Storylines
• WR Odieu Hiliare has a catch in 41-straight games, which includes his career at Alabama A&M (2019-21). It is the sixth-best active streak in the nation. The Belle Glade, Fla., native has 181 career receptions for 2,338 career receiving yards and 21 receiving touchdowns.
• Bowling Green is playing its fifth game away from home on Saturday at Buffalo. The Falcons are the only FBS program in the nation to only have two home games through seven weeks of the college football season.
• RB Terion Stewart has rushed 46 times for 308 yards and two touchdowns over BGSU's last three games. Stewart averages 6.5 yards per rush for his career, which ranks No. 1 in program history.
• Stewart had a career day the last time the Falcons came to UB Stadium in 2021. He rushed 11 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns.Â
• Bowling Green is No. 1 in the MAC and No. 17 in the nation with five fumble recoveries.
Last Meeting at UB Stadium
• The last time these teams met at UB Stadium in 2021 was electric.
• Bowling Green topped Buffalo by a score of 56-44.
• The 56 points scored by Bowling Green were the most tallied in the series by either team.
• Bowling Green scored 28 points in the fourth quarter.
• For the Falcons, the offensive pursuit was paced by quarterback Matt McDonald who totaled five touchdowns for the Orange and Brown.Â
• McDonald tossed four scores and added another on the ground.Â
• On the ground, Terion Stewart registered the first 100-yard rushing game of the 2021 season for Bowling Green and added two touchdowns to his stat line.Â
• Jhaylin Embry also found the end zone on the ground for the Falcons en route to the victory.Â
The 2013 Meeting in Orchard Park
• The 2013 meeting took place at the Bills' Ralph Wilson Stadium. BGSU took home a 24-7 win to clinch a spot in the MAC Championship game.
• BGSU shut down the Buffalo offense, holding the Bulls to 236 yards of offense. UB entered the game having won eight of previous nine games, but the Falcons kept the Bulls to just one second quarter touchdown, the team's lowest scoring output of the year. Most notably, running back Braden Oliver was smothered, rushing for just 46 yards, 123 below his average in conference play entering the game.
Bowling Green - Buffalo connections
• Buffalo wide receiver coach Kevin Sherman was on staff at Virginia Tech as the wide receivers coach when BGSU co-offensive coordinator/tight ends coach Greg Nosal was an All-ACC offensive lineman.
• Buffalo's linebacker coach Kevin Corless served in the same position at Samford in 2021 when current BGSU cornerback Jordan Oladokun was on the team.
• BGSU running backs coach Brian White succeeded Buffalo running backs coach Bryan Applewhite at Colorado State (2020-21). Applewhite served in the same capacity 2015-19.
Falcons Are Road Warriors This Month
• Bowling Green concludes its three-game road swing on Saturday at Buffalo. The Falcons also played at Georgia Tech (Sept. 30) and Miami (OH) (Oct. 7).
• After Sept. 23 at against Ohio, Bowling Green will not play in the cozy confines of Doyt Perry Stadium until Oct. 21 when Akron comes to town. That is Week No. 8 of the college football season.
• BGSU is the only school in the nation that has just two home games through the first seven weeks of the college football season.
• Once the Falcons play on Oct. 21, only BGSU, Fresno State, Nevada, South Carolina, UTSA and Virginia will have played just three home games through Oct. 21. Nevada, South Carolina and UTSA will play home game No. 3 on Oct. 14. Virginia on Oct. 7 and Fresno State plays home game No. 3 on Sept. 30.
Strength of Bowling Green's Schedule
• Bowling Green's first six opponents have had a strong start to the season.
• Counting the BGSU games, the five opponents are 28-7 to start the season.
• The five teams are Liberty (5-0), Eastern Illinois (4-2), Michigan (6-0), Ohio (5-1) and Georgia Tech (3-3) and Miami (OH) (5-1).Â
• Georgia Tech's three losses are to Bowling Green, No. 16 Ole Miss (4-1) and No. 25 Louisville (5-0). EIU's lone loss was to Bowling Green until losing in OT to UT-Martin. Ohio's loss was at San Diego State in Week 0.
