November 21, 2023 | Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer
The Bowling Green State University soccer teams have landed a total of 11 student-athletes on the 2023 Academic All-District® Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA). Five men's soccer and six women's soccer Falcons have been named to their respective squads, which were announced Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 21).
On the men's side, Alberto Anaya, Jake Bergin, Brendan Graves, Andrew Shaffer and Eli Shope all earned the academic all-district honor. Graves was named to the team for the second-straight season.
For the BGSU women, Katie Cox, Lexi Czerwien, Maya Dean, Emilie Gardner, Isabelle Gilmore and Makenzie Ortman all were named to the team. Cox, Dean and Ortman all are repeat selections to the team.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 19 (men) and December 20 (women).
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
