BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University women's soccer coach Chris Fox has announced the addition of an NCAA Division-I transfer to the program. Madison Mariani, a native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, has joined the Falcon family.
Mariani, a 5-3 forward, comes to BGSU after spending the last two academic years at St. John's University.
"Madison is a player we are extremely excited to add to our program," said Fox. "She brings high-level experience, attacking quality, and a mentality that fits our culture. Madi is a dynamic forward who is technically sharp, creative in the attack, and relentless in the way she competes.
"What stood out most throughout the recruiting process was her leadership, personality, and energy. We believe she will make an immediate impact within our environment, and we are excited to welcome her to Bowling Green."
Mariani led the Red Storm in scoring in 2025, with five points on two goals and an assist. She also led the team in total shots (18) and shots on goal (14). Mariani played in 14 of the team's 17 matches last fall, making 10 starts. She scored goals in back-to-back wins, vs. Saint Joseph's (GWG) and Youngstown State, and had an assist in a draw vs. Fairleigh Dickinson.
Mariani played in 16 matches off the bench as a freshman in 2024. She had a pair of assists, against Cornell and UConn, and had a total of 20 shots, including seven shots on goal, in her initial collegiate campaign.
A graduate of the Country Day School, Mariani has played for Alliance United, competing in League One Ontario, and helped her team win a league title in 2023. She also played for Markham SC, where she was her club's leading goal-scorer from 2019 to '22 and won a pair of charity shields.
The daughter of Angela and Joe Mariani, Madison has three older brothers; Matthew, Stephen and Christian.

BGSU finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 10-3-9, and the Falcons went 4-1-7 in Mid-American Conference play. BG finished sixth in the 13-team league, then proceeded to advance past third-seeded Buffalo and second-seeded Miami in the MAC Tournament, making it all the way to the championship match. BGSU had just two seniors on the 2025 roster.
