BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University women's soccer coach Chris Fox has announced the addition of an NCAA Division-I transfer to the program. Timéa Thorel, a native of Clamart, France, has joined the Falcon family.
Thorel, a 5-3 midfielder, comes to BGSU after spending the 2025-26 academic year at the University of Mississippi.
"Timéa is a very technical and intelligent attacking midfielder who brings high-level experience from both France and the SEC," said Fox. "She has the creativity and vision to help break teams down and impact the game in advanced areas of the field.
"We believe Timéa's tactical understanding, experience, and quality on the ball will make an immediate impact on our program, and we are excited to welcome her to Bowling Green."
Thorel played in 10 matches, making three starts, at Ole Miss last fall. She saw a total of 399 minutes of action, playing in the final 10 contests of the season for the Rebels after missing the first five due to injury.
All 10 of those appearances came against Southeastern Conference opponents. Thorel made her collegiate debut in a draw against Auburn on Sept. 12, and was in the starting lineup two matches later, vs. Georgia (Sept. 21). Her other starting assignments came vs. Arkansas (Sept. 26) and in a 1-1 draw vs. Kentucky (Oct. 10).
A graduate of Lycée les arcades, Dijon, Thorel played for DFCO Dijon U19 under coach P.A. Picard, and also competed for FC Fleury U18 under Kevin Gonzalez. She helped guide Dijon to a third-place finish at the 2024 U19 National Championship. She is the daughter of Olivier Thorel and Marion Remoleur, and has one sister.

BGSU finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 10-3-9, and the Falcons went 4-1-7 in Mid-American Conference play. BG finished sixth in the 13-team league, then proceeded to advance past third-seeded Buffalo and second-seeded Miami in the MAC Tournament, making it all the way to the championship match. BGSU had just two seniors on the 2025 roster.
