Falcons Aim For Strong Finish at MAC Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team is set to compete in MAC Championships at Miami University this week. The Falcons will compete in Oxford, Ohio from Wednesday to Saturday.

Tickets for the MAC Championships are $45 for all adults for an all-session pass and $25 for all children 12 and younger. You can purchase tickets for the event HERE.
Featured Falcons
For the second time in three weeks the Falcons are set to compete in Oxford, Ohio. In their last visit the Falcons were paced by the 400 Medley Relay team of Namie Edge, Taylor Harris, Ava Vial, and Karen Krosky finishing first with a time of 3:57.10. Additionally, the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Emily McNicol, Rylie Kennedy, Grace Bodrock, and Maddie Gallagher finished second with a time of 1:38.50.
Individually the Falcons came away with three third place finishes. The first came from Riley McNichols who placed third in the 50 Freestyle thanks to a time of 24.50. Then Julianna Petrak took home third in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:05.20. Finally, Mary Ellen Wolff with a time of 58.59 finished third in the 100 Backstroke.
Diving had yet another stellar performance. Rayah Blood finished third in the 3-Meter with a personal best of 325.60. Freshman Falcon diver Evie Long then finished fourth in the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 264.45.
Falcon Flashback
Last year at MAC Championships the Falcons finished 6th. The Falcons broke two school record relay times in the 200 Medley and 400 Medley Relays. Taylor Harris and Elayna Krupp are are the only two Falcons returning to MAC Championships from those teams. Individually Taylor Harris came away with a stellar performance in the 100 Breaststroke. Harris tied for the final spot in the championships finals during prelims and had to go into a swim off. Harris then captured not only the 6th fastest time in school history in the event but also the final spot in the championship during the swim off. Harris then finished the day and the event with a 7th place finish and the 4th fastest time in program history in the 100 Breaststroke.
A freshman at the time Fabiana D'Ambrogio had a strong MAC Championship Debut. D'Ambrogio finished eighth in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:02.68. This time was also good enough for the eighth best time in program history. Ava Vial additionally left her mark last year at MAC Championships swimming to a fifth-place finish in the 400 IM. Vial's championship final time of 4:22.28 left her with the eighth fastest time in school history in the event.
The divers were led by Rayah Blood and Grace Ellis. Blood finished fourth in the 3-Meter final with a score of 271.60 and Ellis seventh in the 1-Meter final with a score of 263.35. The Falcons additionally had five divers finish in the top sixteen in the 3-Meter Dive.
