Fonseca extends singles win streak to six, Furness and Saraty add to BGSU point total

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Bowling Green Falcons (6-6, 0-0 MAC) dropped a Friday battle to the Oakland Golden Grizzlies (4-8, 0-0 Horizon) by a score of 4-3. The match saw three of the six singles matches extend to three sets, with another three sets needing a tiebreak set. The Falcons had singles wins from Eloise Saraty, Lucy Furness, and Leticia Fonseca, with Saraty's win marking her team-best 11^th triumph of the season. The senior has a 7-1 record in No. 2 singles, with her only defeat coming by injury default. Furness now has three consecutive singles wins, pushing her season total to 10.

Fonseca has six consecutive singles wins, all at No. 6. She leads the Falcons with eight singles wins this spring. In doubles, Furness and Hannah Neuman logged a 6-4 win at No. 2, marking their second consecutive win and seventh of the season. This spring, the junior pairing has a 6-2 record when playing No. 2 doubles. The loss ends BGSU's five-match win streak, which tied the program's longest since 2013.
