Tsadari Victorious in Singles as Falcons Drop MAC Opener to NIU

Senior earns No. 1 singles win that marks 75th career victory
PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (6-7, 0-1 MAC) dropped their conference opener to the Northern Illinois Huskies (10-8, 1-0 MAC) on Sunday (March 19) by a score of 6-1. Ioanna Tsadari was the first singles player to finish, taking a quick 6-3, 6-2 win over Erika Dimitriev at No. 1. This marks her seventh singles victory of the season, including four this spring. All four spring triumphs have come at the No. 1 spot. The win also marks Tsadari's 75th career victory, with 36 of those coming in singles.
Hannah Neuman and Lucy Furness each battled to a three-set loss in singles, with Leticia Fonseca needing a tiebreak in her opening set. In doubles, Maru Poppe and Leticia Fonseca took a 6-2 victory at No. 3, their third win as a duo. Furness and Neuman had a tiebreak loss at No. 2, 7-6 (4).
