Falcons Host Miami, Travel to Ypsi as MAC Play Continues

Bowling Green home against RedHawks on Friday, hit the road for Sunday tilt with Eagles
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (6-7, 0-1 MAC) continue conference competition with a pair of MAC matches, one at home and one on the road. On Friday, March 24, the Falcons host the Miami (OH) RedHawks (6-9, 0-1 MAC) at the Perrysburg Tennis Center. Admission and parking are free, live stats for the match will be available HERE. On Sunday, March 26, BGSU travels to Ypsilanti for a match against the Eastern Michigan Eagles (3-3, 0-1 MAC). Both matches start at 1 p.m. ET.
Last Time Out: Falcons Drop Non-Conference Finale and Conference Opener
Bowling Green closed the non-conference portion of the season with a close 4-3 loss at Oakland. Eloise Saraty (No. 2), Lucy Furness (No. 3), and Leticia Fonseca (No. 6) each won in singles, with Furness and Hannah Neuman tallying another No. 2 doubles win. The loss snapped BGSU's five-match win streak. The following day, the Falcons dropped the MAC opener to Northern Illinois by a score of 6-1. Ioanna Tsadari notched a win at No. 1 singles, her 75th career combined win. In doubles, Maru Poppe and Leticia Fonseca tallied a victory for the Orange and Brown at No. 3.

Miami (OH) enters the weekend with a 6-9 overall record, including a 4-3 loss to Buffalo in their MAC opener. The RedHawks swept the doubles round to earn the first point, but only saw Laura Rico (No. 1) and Mayu Ushio (No. 5) take wins in singles. Catherine Denysiewicz-Slowek has a team-best 12-5 record in singles, tallying seven of those wins at No. 2. In doubles, she pairs with Rico for a 9-4 spring record at No. 1. At No. 2 doubles, Sara Zalukar and Emilia Valentinsson have a 9-2 record.
Eastern Michigan has a 3-3 record, with their lone MAC match being a 7-0 loss to Toledo. The Eagles open the weekend on Friday, March 24, with a home tilt with Western Michigan. EMU is 2-0 when playing at home, with wins over Youngstown State and UIC. In both wins, the doubles duo of Wendy Zhang and Daniella Shved were victorious. The duo has an overall record of 4-2. In singles, Shved and Prerna Vichare each have a 4-1 record to pace the Eagles.
Last season, the Falcons dropped both matches to the RedHawks, but Ioanna Tsadari won her No. 1 singles match on both days. In their lone match against EMU, Bowling Green fell, 3-4. Hannah Neuman and Maru Poppe each won a doubles match for the Orange and Brown.
