Falcons to Close 2023 at Home, Host WMU Before Battle of I-75

Bowling Green hosts Broncos on Friday, Rockets on Sunday for season finale
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (6-14, 0-8 MAC) close the 2022-23 season with two home matches this weekend. The Falcons host the Western Michigan Broncos (12-8, 3-5 MAC) on Friday (April 21) for a 1 p.m. match in the Perrysburg Tennis Center. Live stats for the match will be updated HERE. On Sunday, April 23, BGSU hosts the No. 64 Toledo Rockets (17-3, 8-0 MAC) for the season's second edition of the Battle of I-75. The Falcons welcome the MAC-leading Rockets to the Perrysburg Tennis Center for a 1 p.m. tilt, with live stats being posted HERE.

Bowling Green started the weekend at Ball State, losing 6-1 to a talented Cardinal unit. Eloise Saraty picked up the point for the Falcons, earning a three-set win at No. 2 singles to secure her 25th total victory of the season. In the road finale, the Falcons lost a heartbreaker at Buffalo, 4-3. Saraty and Ioanna Tsadari won at No. 1 doubles, improving their spring record to 9-4. Lucy Furness and Hannah Neuman clinched the doubles point with their win at No. 2, which marked the 20th win of the season for Furness and 45th career victory for Neuman. In singles, Saraty earned another three-set triumph at No. 2, putting her at a team-best 27 wins this season. Furness also notched a win at No. 3, giving her a singles win total of 12 that ranks second on the team.

Western Michigan enters with a 3-7 MAC record, with wins coming against Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, and Buffalo. Karin Hamilton and Lindsey Zieglar have a team-best 15 singles wins apiece, with Femke Tjon-A-Joe and Elizabeth Trupp each entering on a four-match win streak. Sanjana Tallamraju and Julia Kuszynski have a team-high 10 doubles wins, with Laura Morera and Cassie Alcala entering on an eight-match win streak, all played at No. 3. Teske and Perez have earned MAC Doubles Team of the Week twice, with Teske and Alcala earning MAC Singles Player of the Week twice apiece.
