Falcons Collect PRs, Add Names to Record Book in Columbus

Four Falcons PR, five add names to record book, eight record season-bests
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons enjoyed a successful Saturday (April 22) in Columbus, tallying a plethora of PRs and record-book additions at the Jesse Owens Classic. In the day's first event, Brianna Richard was the triple jump runner-up, leaping a PR of 42-2.75 (12.87m) that puts her first in the MAC and second in school history. Zaresha Neal recorded a MAC-best mark of 53-10.25 (16.41m) in the shot put to win the event, then registered the fourth-best discus mark in program history at 176-8.00 (53.85m). Bianca Staples tied for fifth in the high jump with a mark of 5-3.00 (1.60m), her third top-five high jump finish of the outdoor campaign. Reagan Emberton placed 15th in the shot put and discus, throwing her season-best in the shot put and second-best mark of the year in the discus.
On the track side, DaMya Barker had a PR of 14.28 in the 100 hurdles, ranking her sixth in school history. Morgan Patterson finished the 100 hurdles with a wind-aided PR of 14.40, the fourth-fastest wind-aided time in program history. Tianna Mulligan had a PR in the 400 (57.39), with Darian Braddix (58.39) and Ashley Kisor (1:00.35) running season-bests in the event. Jemeila Hunter (100, 12.07), Izzy Best (800, 2:17.39), and Raegan Burkey (800, 2:17.41) all ran their second-best times of the season.

- Brianna Richard had a PR in the triple jump of 42-2.75 (12.87m), finishing second. This is the fifth-best mark in program history and maintains her position as No. 2 in the BGSU triple jump records. As of today, it is also the top mark in the MAC. Richard holds four of the top nine triple jump marks in school history.
- DaMya Barker had a PR of 14.28 in the 100 hurdles, the eighth-best mark in program history. This places her sixth in the school's all-time rankings.
- Tianna Mulligan had a PR in the 400, running in 57.39 to place 15th in the race.
- Zaresha Neal won the shot put with an outdoor season-best mark of 53-10.25 (16.41m). This is the fifth-best mark of her career and ranks 16th in school history. Neal now holds eight of the top 20 shot put marks in program history. She remains at the top of the MAC shot put rankings this season.
- Neal placed third in the discus, throwing her second-best mark of the season at 176-8.00 (53.85m). This solidifies her position at the top of the MAC standings and is the fourth-best mark in program history. She holds the three higher marks, giving her four of the top five, seven of the top 10, 11 of the top 15, and 14 of the top 20 shot put marks in program history. Neal finished behind Faith Bender and Micaela Hazlewood, who both eclipsed the stadium record of 188-3.00 (57.38m).
- Reagan Emberton also had a season-best in the shot put at 43-9.25 (13.34m), finishing 15th. This is the second-best mark of her outdoor career, just six inches shy of her outdoor PR.
- Emberton added another 15th-place finish in the discus, recording her second-best mark of the season at 134-0.00 (40.85m).
- Kennedi Bailey had her second-best shot put mark of the year at 44-4.75 (13.53m), placing 14th.
- Morgan Patterson had a +2.8 wind-aided PR of 14.40 in the 100 hurdles, the fourth-best wind-aided time in school history.
- Bianca Staples cleared 5-3.00 (1.60m) in the high jump, tying for fifth. This is her second-best mark of the outdoor season. Staples has placed in the top five of the high jump at all of her meets this season.
- Jemeila Hunter was 13th overall in the 100 with a time of 12.07. She finished third among the 14 MAC runners in the race.
- Darian Braddix ran her best outdoor 400 of the season, placing 21st at 58.39. Also running an outdoor-best 400 was Ashley Kisor at 1:00.35.
- Izzy Best finished the 800 in 2:17.39, her second-best time of the outdoor season.
- Raegan Burkey ran the 800 in 2:17.41, her second-best time of the outdoor season and third-best time of her outdoor career.
