Bowling Green Hockey Looks to Defend Home Ice against Northern Michigan in Conference Matchup

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (5-7-2, CCHA 2-2-2) will defend home ice for an in-conference match-up against the Northern Michigan Wildcats (1-14-1, 0-9-1) on Friday and Saturday night.

Northern Michigan leads the series all time with a 62-59-11 record overall. The last time these two teams met on March 2, 2024, the Wildcats came away with a 1-0 victory. Last season, the two teams met for two series. In the first series at Bowling Green, Ohio., the Falcons split the series, while in the second series the Wildcats swept the series. BGSU will look for their first win against the Wildcats since Nov. 24, 2023, and first series sweep since Jan. 16, 2021.

- The Wildcats are coming off a weekend series against the Ferris State Bulldogs
- Northern Michigan head coach Dave Shyiak will be coaching against Bowling Green for the first time as a head coach after seeing the Falcons during stints as an assistant coach at Northern Michigan and associate coach at Western Michigan
- NMU is one of the youngest teams in collegiate hockey with the largest freshman class in the country with 16 and 20 underclassmen in total
- The Wildcats roster gained 24 new players in the offseason with four returners after a coaching change
- The Falcons are coming off an overtime loss to Minnesota State, 3-2 OT.
