Scardina Skates In 100th Career Game As Falcons Sweep Lakers

Falcons earn six points on the weekend and jump to fourth place in CCHA standings
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. - The Bowling Green Falcons (12-16-0, 10-8-0 CCHA) swept the Lake Superior State Lakers (12-16-1, 9-11-1 CCHA) Saturday night in Slater Family Ice Arena by a score of 4-2. Ethan Scardina started the scoring off with two back-to-back goals for an early 2-0 lead. Brett Pfoh scored late in the first to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead going into the second period. Seth Fyten scored the last Falcon goal off a power-play and the lone goal of the second period. The Lakers scored two goals late in the third period after ten penalties were given at the 13 minute mark, between the two teams. The Falcons captured their second straight sweep and are on a four game winning streak.

Scoring Plays
- Ethan Scardina started the scoring for the night at 18:23 in the first period, on a power-play. Â Scardina received a pass from Kersten in front of the net and was able to tap it past the Lakers goaltender for the early 1-0 lead. Brett Pfoh recorded the second assist on the Scardina goal.
- Ethan Scardina responded to his own goal at 11:08 with a pass from Brandon Santa Juana and was able to shoot it pass the Lakers goal lines for a 2-0 lead.
- Brett Pfoh scored the third goal for the Falcons at 2:28 in the first period. Pfoh found the loose puck in the face-off circle and found the back of the net to extend the lead to three. Assist came from Adam Schankula and Jaden Grant.
- Seth Fyten scored the lone goal of the second period at 12:00, off a power-play. Fyten, on the doorstep of the Lakers net, tapped in the puck off a pass from Ben Doran. Josh Nodler recorded the second assist on the Fyten goal.
- Carter Batchelder scored at 8:37 in the first period. Batchelder finished the passing sequence and shot it past Moore for the Lakers first goal of the night.
- Harrison Roy finished the scoring for the night at 6:09 in the third period. Roy received a pass from behind the net a redirected it to the back of the Falcons net to conclude the game 4-2.
Falcon Facts
- Ethan Scardina recorded his 100th career game and tallied two goals, one of which was a power-play goal. Scardina recorded his fifth goal of the season and 22nd career. The power-play goal, tallied as his first of the season and ninth career.
- Brett Pfoh recorded two points on the night (1 G, 1A), which tallied as his 10th point of the season. Pfoh records five goals and five assist on the season. Through his career, he has seven goals and eight assist through 50 games played.
- Seth Fyten scored his fifth goal of the season and 14th career. Fyten's goal was also on a power-play which tallied his third of the season and third career.
- Spencer Kersten, Brandon Santa Juana, Adam Schankula, Jaden Grant, Ben Doran and Josh Nodler all recorded one assist.
- Cole Moore recorded 37 saves on the night, recording his ninth game of the season with over 30 saves. Moore is now .500 on the season with nine wins and nine losses.
