
Bowling Green Earns Two Points In Shootout Win Against Tommies

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Bowling Green Falcons (12-16-1, 10-8-1 CCHA) earned a pair of CCHA points with a shootout victory over the St. Thomas Tommies (13-14-2, 11-7-1 CCHA) Friday night in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. The two teams ended regulation 3-3 and played five minutes of overtime, then went into a shootout to decide the game. The Falcons and Tommies were at a standstill going into round four, Ben Doran made the final goal for a shootout win awarded to the Orange and Brown. Cole Moore saved every shot he saw on the night (32) and goals came from Brett Pfoh, Brandon Santa Juana and Eric Parker.Â

Friday, Feb. 23 will serve as Friends Night and Senior Day puck drop set for 7:07 p.m. The action will continue on Saturday, Feb 24 at 7:07 p.m. The Saturday game will be the 1984 National Championship Reunion and BG City Schools Night.Â

Scoring Plays
- Mack Byers scored the first goal of the night at 3:44 in the first period. Byers received a pass from a Tommie across the BG net and shot it past Stoever to start the scoring for the night.
- Brett Pfoh responded not soon after at 2:50 in the first period. Pfoh intercepted a pass from the Tommies and attacked into the St. Thomas territory shooting it between Trotter's legs, tying the game up at one.
- Cooper Gay ended the scoring for the first period at 54.7. Gay skated the puck from the blue line by the boards and shot right above the goal line to the top right corner of the BG net. Tommies lead 2-1 going into the second period.
- Brandon Santa Juana tied the game up at 19:07 in the second period. Santa Juana found the puck on the doorstep of the Tommies goal and shot the puck to the back of the net. Assist came from Michael Bevilacqua and Brody Waters.
- Luc Laylin regained the lead on a power-play goal at 18:32 in the second. Off a slap-shot above the face-off circle, Laylin shot the puck past Stoever for a 3-2 score.
- Eric Parker tied the game up at 3:03 off a power-play. In a tic-tac-toe sequence starting with Ben Doran to Dalton Norris and Eric Parker shooting from the CCHA logo past the Tommies goaltender
- Ben Doran scored the only goal in the shootout to end the game.

- Round 2: Nodler (BGSU) miss; Docter (UST) miss
- Round 3: Pfoh (BGSU) miss; Wahlin (UST) miss
- Round 4: Doran (BGSU) make; Laylin (UST) miss
- Brett Pfoh scored his sixth goal of the season and eighth career. Brandon Santa Juana scored the second goal of the night for the Falcons, which was his second career goal. Assist came from Michael Bevilacqua (fourth) and Brody Waters (eighth).
- Eric Parker scored his first goal of the season and third career, also recording his firs career power-play goal.
- Ben Doran scored the shootout goal to give the Falcons two points in CCHA standings.
- Cole Moore recorded 32 saves through 42 minutes, saving every goal he encountered.
