
Falcons Fly Past Tommies Saturday Night

Bowling Green earns three points, tied for second in CCHA standings
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Bowling Green Falcons (13-16-1, 11-8-1 CCHA) defeated the St. Thomas Tommies (13-15-2, 11-8-1 CCHA) Saturday night in Mendota Heights, Minnesota by a score of 3-1. Brett Pfoh put the Falcons on the scoreboard at 54 seconds in the first period and tallied a second goal half-way through the second period from Seth Fyten. The Tommies scored their lone goal on a power-play, two-minutes into the third. Ben Doran secured three points for the Falcons with 35 seconds remaining in the game. Doran scored on a short-handed goal on an empty-net.

Bowling Green will host Michigan Tech Feb. 23-24 for the second time this season. Friday, Feb. 23 will serve as Friends Night with a puck drop set for 7:37 p.m. The action will continue on Saturday, Feb 24 at 7:07 p.m. The Saturday game will be the 1984 National Championship Reunion, Senior Night and BG City Schools Night.Â

Scoring Plays
- Brett Pfoh scored the first goal of the night at 19:07 in the first period. Pfoh finished a passing sequence in the Falcons' offensive zone and shot the puck to the back of the Tommies net. Assist came from Adam Schankula and Jaden Grant.
- Seth Fyten scored the only goal of the third at 9:11. Fyten skated the puck from the blue line, shooting at the left faceoff circle and to the top right corner of the net extending the lead to two. Assist came from Ben Doran and Breck McKinley.
- Matthew Gleason scored the Tommies lone goal at 17:36 in the third period. Gleason redirected a pass from another Tommie and snuck it past Moore on the doorstep, for a power-play goal.
- Ben Doran sealed the deal for the Falcons at 25.2 left in the third period, which was a short-handed empty-net goal for a final score of 3-1. Assist came from Jaden Grant.
- Brett Pfoh scored his seventh goal on the season and ninth career goal, Pfoh has recorded a goal in four games straight. Assist came from Adam Shankula, recording his second assist on the season while Jaden Grant recorded two assists on the night. Grant now records nine assists on the season and 14 career.
- Seth Fyten recorded his sixth goal of the season and 15th career. Assist came from Ben Doran (6) and Breck McKinley (6).
- Ben Doran scored his second career goal, on a short-handed empty-net.
- Cole Moore recorded 30 saves on the night and 12th game of the season with 30 or more saves.
