Falcons Sweep Bulldogs For Second Time This Season

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Bowling Green Falcons (10-16-0, 8-8-0 CCHA) captured a 3-1 win over the Ferris State Bulldogs (10-18-1, 6-13-0 CCHA) Saturday (Feb. 3) night in Ewigleben Ice Arena. Michael Bevilacqua picked up where he left off last night and scored the first goal of the night. Ben Doran scored shortly after to lengthen the Falcons lead to two. Ferris State found their first and only goal of the night in the second period. Going into the third period the Falcons lead 2-1, with 14 seconds left on the clock Spencer Kersten tied a bow on the game with an empty-net goal for a 3-1 win in Big Rapids. With the Falcons win over the Bulldogs tonight (Feb.3) secured the second sweep of the season and second sweep against Ferris State.

Scoring Plays
- Michael Bevilacqua started the scoring at 15:41 in the first period. Bevilacqua received a pass from Scardina, across the Bulldogs cage and buried it to the back of the net. Second assist came from Brandon Santa Juana.
- Ben Doran continued the scoring at 6:59 in the first period. Doran found the puck in a scurry in front of the net and shot it past the Bulldogs goaltender to lengthen Falcons lead within two. Assist came from Quinn Emerson and Seth Fyten.
- Zach Faremouth scores the Bulldogs' only goal of the night at 7:34 in the second period. Faremouth received a pass across the Falcon net and snuck it past Moore to bring the game within one.
- Spencer Kersten finds the empty puck in the Bulldogs zone and walk it in the empty-net at 14.9 in the third period to secure the sweep.
- Michael Bevilacqua captures his second goal of the season with assist from Ethan Scardina and Brandon Santa Juana. Scardina tallied his fourth assist of the season and 17th career. While Santa Juana recorded his sixth assist of the season.
- Ben Doran recorded his first career goal with assists from Quinn Emerson and Seth Fyten. Emerson recorded two assists on the night, recording his fifth of the season and ninth career. Second assist came from Seth Fyten who recorded his third of the season and fifth career.
- Spencer Kersten recorded his eighth goal as a Falcon and 23rd career goal.
- Cole Moore recorded 26 saves on the night.
