Falcons Top Oakland, 5-2, on Sunday at the PTC

PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis team picked up a win on St. Patrick's Day, defeating Oakland University, 5-2, Sunday afternoon (March 17) inside the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
The Falcons (7-6) won the doubles point, as Ioanna Tsadari teamed up with Eloise Saraty for a 7-5 victory at the second flight. The Golden Grizzlies (4-7) won at the top flight, but had to default at flight number three.
In singles, BGSU won the bottom two flights by default as well. And, Tsadari and Tia Clemens picked up victories at the second and fourth flights, respectively. Clemens lost just one game in her two sets, giving the Falcons the clinching point, and Tsadari rallied from a first-set loss to pick up a win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Falcons captured the doubles point, with Ioanna Tsadari and Eloise Saraty teaming up for a 7-5 victory at the number-two flight. The Golden Grizzlies won the top-flight match by a narrow 6-4 score, but BGSU took the point as OU was forced to default at the third flight.
• In singles action, Tia Clemens made quick work of Tara Montreuil, winning by dominant scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
• The Grizzlies picked up victories at flights three and one, but Tsadari bounced back from a first-set loss at the second flight, capturing the second set before winning a 10-8 tiebreaker.
