
Falcons Hit The Road For MAC Matchups

KALAMAZOO, Mich - The Bowling Green Falcons (7-6, 0-1 MAC) are set for two MAC matchups this weekend (Mar. 22 and Mar. 24). The Falcons will first travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan on Friday, March 22 where they will face Western Michigan for a 1:00 p.m. match. On Sunday, March 24 the Falcons will make a stop up the road where they will face Toledo at 1:00 p.m.Â
Last Time Out: Falcons Split Weekend At HomeÂ
The Falcons opened MAC play against Buffalo on Friday, March 15 where they fell in close contested match by a score of 3-4. The Bulls started the scoring early, securing the doubles point on courts three (6-3) and two (6-2). During singles play, the Falcons and Bulls battled down to the last match, ultimately being decided by No. 1 Jagmeet Kaur taking the match into three sets over Lucy Furness.Â
Bowling Green returned to Perrysburg Tennis Center on Sunday (Mar. 17) where they secured a 5-2 win over Oakland. The Falcons won the doubles point and went on to split the singles with the Golden Grizzles. No.5 and No.6 were wins by default, securing the 5-2 win for the Falcons.Â
Opponent Outlook
Western Michigan enters the weekend with a 9-5 overall record and 0-1 in the MAC. The Broncos took the court last weekend at Toledo. The Rockets swept the match 7-0 in the conference opener. Western Michigan is set for a two match weekend as well, starting with the Falcons on Friday and on Sunday they will travel to DeKalb, Illinois where they will face Northern Illinois.Â
Toledo enters the weekend with a 8-4 overall record and 1-0 in the MAC. The Rockets faced Western Michigan last weekend, claiming a 7-0 win to begin MAC play. Toledo will travel to New York on Friday, Mar. 22 where they will face MAC member Buffalo and turn around to face the Falcons at home on Sunday. Â
