Ball State Tops Falcons on Sunday Afternoon

BGSU returns home to face CMU on Tuesday
MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State University rode a big first inning to an 11-3 victory over the Bowling Green State University softball team on Sunday afternoon (April 14). The Mid-American Conference game took place at the Softball Field at First Merchants Ballpark Complex.Â
The Falcons broke on top with a two-run first inning, but the Cardinals answered in a big way, scoring eight times in the bottom of the inning. Five of those eight BSU runs were unearned.
The hosts added a pair of third-inning runs, and after BG got a fifth-inning run, the Cards cobbled together a run in the sixth inning to go ahead by eight.
Aaralyn Nogay went 2-for-3 at the plate, coming around to score two of BGSU's three run, while fellow freshman Cameron Kaufman had a hit and a pair of RBI
Peyton Dolejs had a hit, a walk and a run, while Scarlet Anderson walked twice and Reagan Williamson had a run-scoring single.
Madi Young entered the circle to begin the second inning, and allowed three runs and six hits in her four-and-two-thirds-innings relief stint. She did not walk a batter.
UP NEXT
• The Falcons return home for a Tuesday (April 16) doubleheader vs. Central Michigan University. Game one will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Meserve Field, and admission is free.
