Bowling Green Hockey Finishes January on the Road Against Northern Michigan

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (12-9-4, CCHA 8-6-4) travel to Marquette, Mich., to take on the Northern Michigan Wildcats (4-21-1, CCHA 3-14-1) to close out the month of January.

Northern Michigan leads the series all time with a 62-62-11 record. In CCHA conference play, the Wildcats own a 51-40-9 record. The Falcons currently are on a two win-streak against Northern Michigan, after sweeping the Wildcats on Dec.13-14, 2024 at Slater Family Ice Arena. The two teams have met in every season at least once since the 1997 season. The Falcons will be looking for the first win against Northern Michigan in Marquette, Mich., since Oct.1, 2022, when the Falcons won 6-4.

- Northern Michigan head coach Dave Shyiak will be coaching against Bowling Green for the first time as a head coach after seeing the Falcons during stints as an assistant coach at Northern Michigan and associate coach at Western Michigan
- NMU is one of the youngest teams in collegiate hockey with the largest freshman class in the country with 16 and 20 underclassmen in total
