Falcons Claim Two Points with Niedermayer’s Overtime Winner Against Northern Michigan

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Bowling Green Falcons (13-9-4, CCHA 9-6-4) defeated the Northern Michigan Wildcats (4-22-1, CCHA 3-15-1) in overtime by a score of 3-2. In the win, graduate Tommy Pasanen scored his first goal of the season. Senior Jackson Niedermayer scored the game-winner at the 4-minute mark of the overtime period.

- The Falcons opened the scoring at 18:05 in the second period. Junior Dalton Norris took a shot from the top of the right circle. The Northern Michigan goalie saved the shot but gave up a rebound. Graduate Tommy Pasanen collected the rebound and took a sharp angle shot from behind the back of the net that took a bounce into the net to make it 1-0.
- NMU would get the equalizer early into the third period. One minute and 48 second later the Falcons would retake the lead. Graduate Ville Immonen passed the puck down the ice and found senior Jackson Niedermayer. Niedermayer took the puck into the right corner and found graduate Ethan Scardina on the backside. Scardina slid the puck in to make it 2-1.
- In the waning seconds of the third period, the Wildcats found the equalizer on the 6 on 5 to force overtime.
- In the overtime, senior Christian Stoever came up big for the Falcons with two saves. Scardina blocked the shot from the Northern Michigan skater. Niedermayer collected the rebound and attacked on a two on one with junior Eric Parker. Niedermayer elected to shoot and sniped a shot just under the crossbar to win the game for the Orange and Brown.
