Falcons Return Home for Exhibition Matchup Against Windsor
October 16, 2025 | Ice Hockey
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The BGSU ice hockey team returns home on Friday, Oct. 17, for an exhibition matchup against the University of Windsor of Ontario University Athletics (OUA). The Falcons will look to rebound on Friday, as they were swept by the Purple Eagles of Niagara University last weekend, Oct. 10-11, by a score of 2-0 on Friday and 5-2 on Saturday. Windsor has already begun their OUA schedule, and the Lancers will be looking to rebound as well, after they dropped their most recent contest 4-3 to Laurier.
Prior to their matchup with Laurier, the Lancers started out their OUA schedule with two convincing victories. First, they opened their season with a 5-1 victory over York on Oct. 5, followed by a 4-1 victory over Waterloo on Oct. 10. Leading the line for the Lancers is #15 Keegan McMullin, who has netted four goals and two assists in the early stages of the season. Max Danoso has also been a standout between the pipes, as he has a .923 save percentage heading into Friday's matchup.
The Falcons have struggled to find the net in the early stages of the season, scoring just two goals in last weekend's series at Niagara. Those goals came at the hands of newcomers Tyler Hotson, a junior transfer from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and freshman Noah Morneau. Bowling Green's power play has also struggled to find its feet in the early stages of the season, as the Falcons were unable to find the net in nine attempts over the series at Niagara. The Falcons penalty kill, however, has been perfect so far and will look to remain that way against a high-flying Windsor power play that has converted multiple times through the first three games of the season.
Puck drop for Friday's exhibition is slated for 7:07 pm at the Slater Family Ice Arena. The game will also be streamed on Midco Sports Plus, the home of CCHA hockey all season long. Audio will be available on 88.1 WBGU-FM.
