Four tournaments, 12 home dates highlight the spring slate
Bowling Green State University softball coach Michelle Gardner has announced her team's schedule for the 2026 season. The Falcons' spring slate features four tournaments as well as 12 home dates at Meserve Field.
In addition to five Mid-American Conference home series, the Falcons will play two non-conference dates at home, including a game vs. Ohio State on March 31.
The pre-conference schedule includes tournaments hosted by Hampton, Furman and East Tennessee State. BGSU also will participate in the Make It Happen Tournament in Madeira Beach, Fla.
"We have put together a preseason schedule that will help us prepare for our MAC season," said Gardner, who is in her second year with the Falcons. "With the talent we have returning and the addition of new faces, we look to build on our success from last season."
Following the Falcons' fourth and final tournament of 2026, BGSU will play four games in the state of South Carolina, facing Coastal Carolina in a single game (March 4), prior to a three-game weekend series against Charleston Southern (March 6-7).
The season is scheduled to begin on Friday, Feb. 6, as the Falcons head to Virginia for the 1868 Classic, hosted by Hampton (Feb 6-7). BGSU will play two games apiece against the host school and Queens University. The following weekend (Feb. 13-15), BG will meet Lipscomb, Towson and the host school in the Furman Classic (Feb. 13-15), playing a total of five games.

BG's other home series in MAC play are against Buffalo (March 27-28), Toledo (April 7-8), Northern Illinois (April 17-18) and Massachusetts (April 24-25). BG will play a non-conference single game vs. OSU, as mentioned, on March 31, and the Falcons will host Oakland in an April 28 doubleheader.
The Falcons' road trips on the league schedule will take the team to Western Michigan (March 20-21), Kent State (April 3-4), Ohio (April 11-12) and Miami (May 1-2). In non-conference road action, the Orange and Brown will play a twinbill against Youngstown State (April 1) and a single game at Michigan (April 21).
