- Gault would then give the Wildcats the lead halfway through the second period on a 5-on-3, after Tyler Hotson received a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for boarding.
- Just under three minutes into the third period, Ivan Korodiuk would get on the scoresheet himself as he fired a shot from the wall at the top of the faceoff circle, beating William Gramme and tying the game at 2.
- With under five minutes to go, the Wildcats would regain the lead through Warren Clark, as he took the puck wide around the Bowling Green defense and fired a shot past Jacob Steinman.
- The Falcons continued to battle in the final five minutes, and with just over a minute remaining and the extra-attacker on the ice, Quinn Emerson found a loose puck in the blue paint after a shot from Breck McKinley went wide, and Emerson jammed in the rebound to tie the score at three.
- The game was sent to overtime, and the teams battled three-on-three until Jaden Grant took a slashing penalty, forcing the Falcons to kill off a four-on-three powerplay.
- Massive blocked shots from Dalton Norris and Connor Levis saw the Falcons kill off the penalty, and with just over a minute remaining in the overtime period, Quinn Emerson drove hard to the net and was knocked over, but the loose puck found Breck McKinley, who fired a shot into the empty net to secure a victory for the Falcons.
