Bowling Green Cruises to 5-1 Victory, Series Sweep of Ferris State

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Bowling Green Falcons (11-5-4, 8-3-3 CCHA) closed out the weekend at Ferris State with another strong, complete performance, skating to a 5-1 victory over the Bulldogs (4-20-0, 3-13-0 CCHA) on Saturday night at Ewigleben Ice Arena to secure the series sweep, the season sweep, and six CCHA standings points for the weekend.
Bowling Green once again controlled the flow of play, using balanced scoring, disciplined defense, and steady goaltending to earn its second road win in as many nights. BGSU outshot FSU for the second straight game, 40-19, and scored three power-play goals.
Quinn Emerson led BGSU with four points (1-3-4), while Ty Higgins added three assists, as eight different Falcons recorded at least one point.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• BGSU opened the game with a 3-0 run. Gustav Stjernberg started the scoring as he ripped one off a pass from Emerson just 5:10 into the game. Ben Doran was credited with the second assist.
• Just 41 seconds into the second period, Breck McKinley found Ben Doran streaking toward the goal for a power-play tally to put the Falcons up 2-0.
• Dominik Rymon capped the run with a goal off assists from Emerson and Ty Higgins with 12:48 remaining in the second period.
• Ferris State scored its lone goal on the power play with 2:48 left in the second period on a goal by Jack Mesic, who accounted for FSU's only two goals of the weekend.
• Ferris State finished the second period down two players due to a roughing penalty and an additional roughing call after the whistle. BGSU opened the third period on the power play, and just nine seconds into the frame, Jaden Grant won the opening faceoff, settled on the crease, and finished a pass from Emerson, with Higgins also credited on the play.
• Emerson capped the scoring with a slapshot off a Higgins pass, with Jeremie Minville earning the secondary assist, with 6:45 remaining.
