Bowling Green Drops Home Opener to No. 2 Michigan
October 03, 2026 | Ice Hockey
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – No. 2 Michigan's Jayden Perron tallied the game-winning goal to score a 4-3 comeback victory over Bowling Green in NCAA men's hockey action Saturday evening at the Slater Family Ice Arena.
Perron scored two goals and added two assists while teammate Michael Hage recorded a goal and three assists to both finish with a game-high four points. Jack Ivankovic earned the win in net with 38 saves.
Jeremie Minville, Breck McKinley and Connor Levis were the goalscorers for the Falcons. Goaltender Jacob Steinman was credited with 26 saves on 30 shots.
McKinley put the Falcons in front just 1:01 into the game after he hammered home a rebound off of Carson Campbell's shot that pinballed around the crease.
A few moments later, Minville doubled the Falcons' advantage when he deflected a pass to create a breakaway and place the puck right above the glove of Ivankovic.
Michigan got on the board just 13 seconds into the second period and tied the game six minutes later. The Wolverines pushed forward to take the lead three minutes later to cap a run of three goals across the opening 10:50 of play.
Connor Levis netted the equalizer for the Falcons with 9:44 remaining in the third period, but Michigan shot back when they regained the lead with 8:50 left on the clock.
