BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University team returns home to Doyt Perry Stadium this Saturday (Oct. 10), for the first of two home games, beginning with the Sacramento State Hornets for a 12 p.m. kick. The game will mark the first ever meeting between the programs and the MAC home opener for the Falcons this season.Â

- Sacramento State is the third new all-time opponent for Bowling Green this season, joining Tarleton State and Nebraska from the first two games of the year.
- Sacramento State will be the 150th unique opponent faced in program history for Bowling Green.Â
Hosting The New Kid In The Neighborhood
- Bowling Green State University returns home to Doyt Perry Stadium for the first of two consecutive home games. In addition to hosting Sacramento State, the Falcons will also host Ball State on Oct. 17.
- The win over Miami (OH) marked BGSU's third straight MAC opener win. The Falcons will now seek their first 2-0 MAC start since the 2015 season when BGSU began their MAC schedule with a 6-0 record.Â
- Beating Toledo in their home MAC opener last year, the Falcons are also seeking consecutive home MAC opener wins for the first time since winning four straight from 2012-15.
Five Top Storylines
- The win over Miami (OH) granted the Falcons a 1-0 start in MAC play for the third consecutive season, joining wins over Toledo in 2025 (28-23, Oct. 11) and Akron in 2024 (27-20, Oct. 5). Bowling Green is now aiming for their first 2-0 start in MAC play since the 2015 season.
- Over the last two games, the Bowling Green defense has totaled 17 tackles for loss and 12 sacks. The Falcons recorded six sacks in each game after not having six or more sacks in a game since 2022. BGSU added nine tackles for loss against South Florida followed by eight against Miami (OH).Â
- Jay Kastantin threw for 305 yards against Miami (OH), the first 300-yard passing game for BGSU since Connor Bazelak threw for 390 on Dec. 26, 2024 against Arkansas State. Kastantin added 25 completions, the most by a Falcon since Drew Pyne had 29 against Cincinnati on Sept. 6, 2025. Kastantin topped off his stat line with his first multi-touchdown game in the Orange and Brown.
- Brennan Ridley went off against Miami (OH) for nine receptions on 11 targets for 95 yards, leading the team in all categories. The outing came after Ridley entered with 10 catches for 72 yards on the season.Â
- Through five games, Dorian Pringle is averaging 9.8 tackles per game, ranking eighth in the nation. Pringle has recorded at least seven tackles in each game and has surpassed double-digit tackles twice this season. Â
Ridley Me This
- Brennan Ridley is one of four Falcons to have a catch in each game this season, but the only one to have a reception streak spanning back to last season.
- Through five games, Ridley has hauled in a team-leading 19 receptions, recording 167 yards, third on the team.Â
- In the MAC opener against Miami (OH), Ridley tallied nine receptions for 95 yards, both leading the team. The reception total marked a career-high for Ridley, surpassing his eight from his time with Hampton.
- In addition to Ridley, Jeremiah Scoby, Nakai Amachree and Eli Jacon-Duffy all have at least one catch in every game this season for Bowling Green.Â
Connecting With KastantinÂ
- In his Bowling Green debut, Jay Kastantin put up impressive numbers in the completion percentage department. Kastantin completed 24 of his 30 passes for an 80-percent mark.
- Kastantin targeted eight different players in the game, connecting with five of them for the 24 completions, but none more than Jeremiah Scoby who he hit 10 times on 11 targets.
- Kastantin followed it up against Nebraska with a 62.5-percent mark, moving his season percentage to 73.9-percent to rank 17th in the nation.Â
- In the MAC opener against Miami (OH), Kastantin produced the first 300-yard passing game by a Falcon since 2024, throwing for 305 yards against the RedHawks.
- Kastantin added a pair of touchdown passes in the game against Miami (OH), his first multi-touchdown game as a Falcon.Â
By George!
- Eriq George put together a career game against Miami (OH), leading the team in sacks with three while adding a career-high eight tackles.Â
- Following his performance against Miami (OH), George was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week, his first weekly award as a Falcon.
- George is now averaging 0.60 sacks per game, tied for 64th in the nation, as well as 1.00 tackles for loss per game, ranking 76th in the nation.Â
- After not recording a tackle for loss in the first two games, George has now totaled five over the last three games with at least one in each contest.Â
Clear Bag Mandate Expanding To DoytÂ
Falcon fans should be familiar with the clear bag mandate that began on Jan. 1, 2026 at all BGSU Athletics venues. The same policy from the Stroh Center and Slater Family Ice Arena will be instituted at the Doyt Perry Stadium this upcoming season. The full mandate can be found on the BGSUFalcons.com website.
Â
New Parking Process Â
BGSU Athletics will be utilizing a new parking ingress route this year for home football games, aiming to ease traffic patterns coming to games. All pre-purchased parking passes should be ready to be scanned upon arrival to each respective lot. Students can park for free in the established student lot and should have their student ID ready to present.Â
