SETTING THE SCENE / FOLLOW THE FALCONS
• The Bowling Green State University men's soccer team returns home for a key Missouri Valley Conference matchup this weekend. Head coach Eric Nichols and the Falcons meet Drake University on Saturday evening (Oct. 10) at Cochrane Stadium. First touch is set for 7:00 p.m., and – as is always the case for BGSU men's soccer home regular-season matches – admission is free.
TODAY'S PAGE-ONE-WORTHY NOTES
• BGSU won a pair of games by identical 2-1 scores last week, going on the road and beating Northern Kentucky (Sept. 29) and Bradley (Oct. 3). The Falcons had not scored multiple goals in back-to-back matches in just over two years, and BG had not posted two or more goals in consecutive road games since September of 2021.
• On Tuesday (Oct. 6), freshman Aidan Flanders was named the MVC's Defensive Player of the Week, while senior Jason Ball was named MVC Goalkeeper of the Week.
• Saturday's opponent, Drake, is the top-ranked team in the MVC, according to the latest RPI rankings. The Bulldogs are 79th in the nation in the RPI as of Wednesday (Oct. 7).
WHERE TO WATCH
• Saturday's duel with Drake will be aired by BCSN in the Toledo area, and will be streamed via the BCSN+ App and ESPN+.
