BGSU Baseball Earns MAC Tournament Champion Vote In Preseason Poll

Falcons Tabbed For Fifth-Place Regular Season Finish By Conference Poll
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 11) the MAC Baseball Preseason Poll for the upcoming 2026 season, set to begin this weekend. Bowling Green was selected to finish fifth in the MAC, receiving 83 points in the poll, just three points behind fourth place Toledo. Bowling Green received one vote to win the MAC Tournament, being one of five different teams to receive at least one vote.
Miami (OH) topped the conference poll with 114 points, including six first place votes. Kent State and Ball State each tallied first place votes as well with four for the Golden Flashes and two for the Cardinals. KSU recorded 111 points for a predicted second place finish while Ball State accumulated 107 for a third place nod. Toledo came in fourth with 86 points followed closely by Bowling Green's 83 to round out the top five. Western Michigan slotted in behind the Falcons at sixth with 65 points.
The Falcons are tabbed to open the season this weekend with a road trip to Georgia Tech for a three-game series. The Ramblin' Wreck are currently ranked inside the top five of all major preseason polls, climbing as high as fourth in some. As for the MAC schedule, Bowling Green will open the conference slate at Kent State on March 6 for a weekend series against the Golden Flashes.
Bowling Green's home schedule will start with a midweek against Findlay on March 17, scheduled for a 3 p.m. first pitch. The first weekend home series for the Orange and Brown begins on March 20, hosting Ohio for a weekend series. The series will include the new turf's Field Dedication at Steller Field on Saturday, March 21.
