Kartusch Tied for Fourth after Day One
MARICOPA, Ariz. – Addison Kartusch shot a one-under-par 71 as the Bowling Green State University women's golf team opened play at the National Golf Invitational (NGI) on Friday (May 15), at the AK-Chin Southern Golf Club. Head coach Erin Fahey's Falcons are competing in the national postseason action in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.
Â
Kartusch led the way for the Orange and Brown, entering the clubhouse tied for the lead before finishing the day deadlocked for fourth on the leaderboard.
Â
As a team, the Falcons are eighth out of 10 teams with a day-one score of 304. BGSU, at 16 over par, sits just six strokes out of fourth place and nine behind the second-place teams. Wyoming finished day one in the lead with a team score of 287, nine strokes ahead of Bradley and Rutgers (296).
Â
Kartusch tallied a trio of birdies to combat two bogeys for the -1 round. Two of her birdies came on Par 5s, birding half of the Par 5s on the course, with the third being on a Par 4.
