SETTING THE SCENE / FOLLOW THE FALCONS
• The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team, after posting a 4-1-1 record in non-league play, begins the Mid-American Conference portion of the schedule on Thursday evening (Sept. 17). Head coach Chris Fox and the Falcons host Eastern Michigan University, with first touch set for 7:00 p.m. at Cochrane Stadium. Admission – as is the case for all BGSU women's soccer home matches – is free.
TODAY'S PAGE-ONE-WORTHY NOTES
• BGSU was the only NCAA Division-I program in the nation to go the entire 2025 season without ever allowing more than one goal in a game. The Falcons' streak – the longest in the nation – is now at 29 games entering the EMU match.
• BGSU has seven goals this season to date, and six different players have found the back of the net in 2026.
• Thursday's opponent, Eastern Michigan, is coached by former BGSU associate head coach Taylor Clarke. Clarke helped the Falcons to regular-season and tournament titles and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2021, and BG went 14-4-4 in MAC regular-season play in his two seasons (2021 and '22).
• The series between BGSU and EMU is tied in overall meetings (15-15-4), at Cochrane Stadium (7-7-2) and in Ypsilanti (8-8-2), and the teams have played to a tie in each of the last two seasons.
