Falcons, Bulls Set For 5 p.m. Homecoming Kick At Doyt Perry Stadium

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University team returns home to Doyt Perry Stadium this Saturday (Sept. 26), hosting the South Florida Bulls for a 5 p.m. pick. The game will be part of BGSU's Homecoming Weekend, welcoming all Falcons back to campus. Follow along this week for details surrounding Homecoming and the At The Game information.

Bowling Green vs. South Florida

South Florida will be Bowling Green's final non-conference opponent of the season with the teams meeting for the second time in program history.
The Bulls won the previous meeting being a 2002 matchup in Tampa during the Urban Meyer Era at BGSU.
Bowling Green is the first MAC opponent for South Florida since 2016, hosting Northern Illinois. The Falcons are the first MAC team to host USF since Ball State on Sept. 22, 2012 with Ball State winning 31-27.

Homecoming In Bowling Green

Bowling Green State University returns home for the first time since the season opener after two games on the road.
Bowling Green will not only be hosting South Florida, but also Homecoming. BGSU won their homecoming game last season, besting Liberty 23-13 on Sept. 13, 2025.
The game will mark the final non-conference test of the season for Bowling Green with MAC play starting on Oct. 3 at Miami (OH).

Five Top Storylines

The Bowling Green offensive line is emerging as one of the best units in the MAC against the pass rush. The Falcons have allowed just two sacks this season, posting clean sheets against both Tarleton State and Iowa State. Giving up just 0.67 sacks per game, the Falcons are tied for first in the MAC and 11th in the nation.
Dorian Pringle has continued to wreak havoc on offenses, leading BGSU in tackles twice through the first three games. Pringle now has 32 tackles this year, averaging 10.7 per game to rank sixth in the nation. In the process, Pringle is averaging 5.0 solo tackles per game, ranking inside the top 25 in the nation at 24 while being second in the MAC.
Both Bowling Green head coach Eddie George and South Florida head coach Brian Hartline are graduates of Ohio State. George was at Ohio State from 1992-95 while Hartline was with the Buckeyes from 2006-08. Hartline later returned to OSU as a coach for nine seasons.
Jay Kastantin has maintained an efficient mark in the passing game, completing two-thirds of his passes for a 66.7-percent completion percentage. The mark for Kastantin ranks inside the top 50 in the nation, coming in right at 50, while being fourth in the MAC.
The Bowling Green defense has registered a sack in each game this season with all three coming from different players. So far, the Falcons have had a trio of players log sacks with Myles Bradley, Kade Kostus and Cashmire Lewis getting into the backfield.

Protecting The Quarterback

The Falcons' offensive line didn't allow a sack against Iowa State, marking the second time this season through three games that BGSU hasn't allowed a sack.
In total, Bowling Green has allowed just two sacks this season through three games, averaging 0.67 sacks allowed per game.
The mark for the Falcons is currently tied for 11th in the nation and tied for first in the MAC, one of four teams averaging 0.67 sacks allowed per game.

Lookin' Sharp

Against Iowa State, Winn Sharp hauled in his first career touchdown with the Falcons, a 59-yard reception from Jay Kastantin on a slant route.
So far this season, Sharp has accumulated 98 yards, second on the team, while averaging a team-leading 19.6 yards per catch on five receptions. The yardage also marks a new single-season high for Sharp, previously set at 46 from the 2025 season.
The catch marked the longest reception of the season for the Falcons and the longest of Jay Kastantin's BGSU career through three games.

Pringle: The Fun Don't Stop

Dorian Pringle didn't waste any time getting back into form for the Falcons, leading the team in tackles against TSU in the season opener with 16, ranking second in the nation at the time.
Pringle's career-high in tackles also marked the first 15+ tackle game by a Falcon since Brock Horne had 15 at Buffalo on Oct. 30, 2021.
Pringle followed it up with seven tackles against Nebraska, averaging 11.5 tackles per game through two weeks, leading the MAC and ranking fourth in the nation.
Pringle kept pace in week three against Iowa State with a team-leading nine tackles, moving his season average to 10.7 tackles per game, ranking sixth in the nation.
Of Pringle's 32 tackles through three games, nearly half have come via solo tackle, averaging 5.0 solo tackles per game to rank second in the MAC and 24th in the nation.
The start to the season marked the return to the field for Pringle after missing majority of the 2025 season due to an injury. Prior to the injury, Pringle had registered a team-leading 27 tackles through three games.

Clear Bag Mandate Expanding To Doyt
Falcon fans should be familiar with the clear bag mandate that began on Jan. 1, 2026 at all BGSU Athletics venues. The same policy from the Stroh Center and Slater Family Ice Arena will be instituted at the Doyt Perry Stadium this upcoming season. The full mandate can be found on the BGSUFalcons.com website. As part of the mandate, clear crossbody bags will be handed out to students with 1,000 at the first football game and 500 at the first volleyball game.

New Parking Process
BGSU Athletics will be utilizing a new parking ingress route this year for home football games, aiming to ease traffic patterns coming to games. All pre-purchased parking passes should be ready to be scanned upon arrival to each respective lot. Students can park for free in the established student lot and should have their student ID ready to present.
