Bowling Green Bound For MAC Play At Miami (OH) To Start October Slate

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team put the home schedule on pause this weekend, heading to Oxford, Ohio to face the Miami (OH) RedHawks. The game will mark the first Mid-American Conference matchup of the season for both teams. The Falcons and RedHawks are set for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPN+ on Saturday (Oct. 3) inside Yager Stadium.

Bowling Green vs. Miami (OH)

Bowling Green and Miami (OH) will be meeting for the first time during the Eddie George Era of Falcon Football.
The last meeting between the two teams came in Bowling Green on Nov. 29, 2024 with this marking the first trip to Oxford for the BGSU since Oct. 7. 2023.
This will mark the first time Bowling Green has begun their conference schedule against Miami (OH) since 2018, doing so on Sept. 22 at home.
The last time BGSU started MAC play in Oxford was on Sept. 24, 2011, a game the Falcons won 37-23.

Moving Into MAC Play

Bowling Green State University returns to the road to begin MAC play, heading to Oxford, Ohio to face the Miami (OH) RedHawks.
Bowling Green will be seeking their third-straight MAC opener win after defeating Toledo in 2025 (28-23, Oct. 11) and Akron in 2024 (27-20, Oct. 5).
The game against Miami (OH) will be the lone road trip for BGSU in a four-game stretch, playing at home on Sept. 26 against South Florida as well as Sacramento State on Oct. 10 and Ball State on Oct. 17.

Five Top Storylines

Myles Bradley led the Bowling Green defense against South Florida with 4.5 sacks. As a defense, BGSU totaled six sacks against the Bulls who entered the game with only one allowed sack through their first three games. Bradley is now averaging 1.38 sacks per game, leading the MAC and ranking fifth in the nation and was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Dorian Pringle and Kal-El Pascal are both averaging 5.25 solo tackles per game, tied for the MAC lead while being tied for 15th in the nation. Additionally, Pringle is averaging 9.8 total tackles per game, ranking ninth in the nation.
Bowling Green is allowing just 170.5 passing yards per game, which leads the MAC and ranks 30th in the nation, which will oppose the Miami (OH) passing offense that ranks 23rd in the nation, averaging 289.3 yards per game.
Winn Sharp has led the Falcons in receiving each of the last two games, totaling 59 yards against Iowa State with a touchdown followed by 56 yards against South Florida on a team-leading five receptions.
The Bowling Green offensive line currently ranks 38th in the nation for sacks allowed per game with an average of 1.25. The Falcons' offense has produced two games without allowing a sack.

Myles [Garrett?] Bradley

Against South Florida, Myles Bradley recorded 4.5 sacks for the Falcons, marking what is believed to be a program record and tied for seventh in MAC history.
The total marked the most by a Falcon since Chris Jones had 3.5 against Central Michigan on Oct. 30, 2010.
Bradley is now averaging 1.38 sacks per game, which ranks first in the MAC and fifth in the nation.
Bradley's sacks aided in the Falcons registering six over the course of the game, the most for BGSU in a game since logging six against Central Michigan on Oct. 22, 2022.
Entering the game against Bowling Green, South Florida had allowed just one sack through their first three games of the season.
For his BGSU career, Bradley now has 11.5 sacks, tied for 12th in program history with DJ Durkin (1997-00) and Cashius Howell (2021-23)
As for tackles for loss, Bradley is averaging 1.38 per game, which leads the MAC and is ranked 22nd in the nation.

Lookin' Sharp

Against Iowa State, Winn Sharp hauled in his first career touchdown with the Falcons, a 59-yard reception from Jay Kastantin on a slant route.
Sharp followed it up with a team-leading five receptions against South Florida while also leading the team in receiving yards, accumulating 56 in the game.
So far this season, Sharp has accumulated 154 yards, leading the team, while averaging a team-leading 15.4 yards per catch on 10 receptions among receivers with multiple receptions.
The catch against Iowa State stands as the longest reception of the season for the Falcons and the longest of Jay Kastantin's BGSU career through four games.

Kal-El: Becoming Bowling Green's Superman

Kal-El Pascal ranked in the top two for tackles in three of Bowling Green's first four games, racking up nine against Tarleton, a team-leading 13 against Nebraska and a team-leading nine against South Florida.
On the year, Pascal is averaging 5.25 solo tackles per game, tied for first in the MAC and 15th in the nation. Pascal is tied with teammate Dorian Pringle.
Pascal's 13 tackles against Nebraska marked a career-high for the safety while giving him 11.0 tackles per game through two weeks. The per game total ranked sixth in the nation and second in the MAC at the time.
Pascal serves as the veteran of Bowling Green's defensive unit, now with a team-leading 16 starts at free safety, the most of any BGSU player at any position for the Falcons. Tight end Blane Cleaver follows closely with 13.
