Julian Lavallee joined the BGSU golf staff in 2026, serving as an assistant for both the men's and women's golf teams at Bowling Green.
Lavallee comes to BGSU after serving as head men's and women's golf coach at Walsh University, where he led all aspects of the NCAA Division II programs, including strategic planning, recruiting, player development, budgeting, scheduling, travel coordination and fundraising. Under his direction, Walsh's Sydney Hugo won the 2026 G-MAC Women's Golf Individual Championship, earned First Team All-G-MAC honors and qualified for the NCAA Regional. Lavallee also coordinated and hosted multiple collegiate golf tournaments while managing operations, logistics and communication with participating institutions, and used performance analytics and player-development technology, including DECADE Golf and Foresight Sports systems, to guide his student-athletes' development.
Since April 2026, Lavallee has also worked part time as a performance fitter for Callaway Golf, conducting custom club-fitting sessions using launch-monitor technology and analyzing swing data to optimize equipment for golfers of all skill levels.
Prior to Walsh, Lavallee served as NCAA Director of Compliance at Tiffin University from October 2023 to August 2025, overseeing compliance operations for all Division II sports sponsored by the university. He monitored and educated athletic staff on NCAA, conference and institutional legislation, implemented and maintained ARMS compliance software, and served as tournament director for NCAA postseason events.
Lavallee began his career in collegiate golf at Mohawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio, working as first assistant golf professional from May 2022 to October 2023, where he supervised staff, managed tournament and event scheduling, and oversaw pro shop sales and merchandise. He also served as a graduate assistant coach for the Tiffin men's and women's golf programs from August 2021 to May 2023, managing 40 student-athletes' scheduling, eligibility and compliance. He served as acting coach during the women's team's 2022 NCAA Regional Tournament and helped guide the women's program to NCAA National Championship appearances in 2022 and 2023.
Lavallee earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Tiffin University in 2023 and a Bachelor of Arts in music business, with a minor in business administration, from Bluffton University in 2021, where he was a three-time Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honoree.
