John Dodrill

John Dodrill enters his sixth year working with BGSU athletics in 2016-17. A Branch Manager for CSC, Dodrill handles numerous parking, security and customer service duties, among many other responsibilities, at BGSU.Â
Dodrill began working at CSC in January of 2006, and started at BGSU in July of 2011. He had an extensive career in customer service and restaurant management before he started his career with CSC in January 2006. Prior to joining CSC, Dodrill worked for Ameritech, now AT&T, as a customer service representative, difficult call specialist and trainer. he was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He is a graduate of Columbus Public Schools. Dodrill’s parents were hearing impaired so he is also fluent in sign language and has intimate knowledge of deaf culture.
During Dodrill’s tenure with CSC, he started as an event guard and was soon promoted to supervisor. In 2007, he started working in the 24 hour security office at Nationwide Arena and quickly became shift leader. During this time, he helped rewrite the training manual for all 24 hour staff and wrote an operations manual as well.
In 2009, Dodrill started running smaller events across central Ohio and was promoted to Event Manager. In July 2011, he was promoted to Satellite Branch Manager for a new office opening in Bowling Green, Ohio. In 2013, the Bowling Green operation moved to Toledo when CSC was contracted with the University of Toledo. Dodrill has been responsible for setting up the new offices and recruiting, hiring and training 450 new staff over the last 3 years, including completing BCI background checks and state licensing for all staff. In 2014, he was placed in a Branch Manager position, covering CSC operations in all of Northwest Ohio.
Dodrill has completed several crowd management courses, including Trained Crowd Manager (TCM), NIMS (National Incident Management System) 100b, 200b, 700a, 800b and 907, BMAP (Bomb-making Materials Awareness Program) sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security and a Terrorism Awareness Program. Most recently he completed the Spectator and Sporting Event Evacuation program sponsored by FEMA and the University of Southern Mississippi as well as ALICE. Dodrill is also a TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management) certified trainer.
In 2008, he was awarded a Citizens Commendation by the Columbus Division of Police for assisting an officer in trouble. He is currently working on completing additional FEMA and Red Cross certifications.
Dodrill has three children and four grandchildren.
