Cubbison Sets 1500m Record at Bryan Clay Invite

AZUSA, Ca. – After three days in southern California, five Falcons competed in mid-distance and distance events at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Thursday morning, Regina Rose was the lone runner in the women's 10,0000-meter open. The senior paced her way to a seventh-place 34:48.96 finish, a time that shattered her personal record by nearly 13 seconds.
On Friday, Reese Reaman and Marissa Boone ran the 800-meter invite and open, respectively. Boone crossed the finish line in 2:11.11, while Reaman ended the race in 2:15.34.
Saturday featured four runners in two 1500-meter races. In the morning, Boone finished the 1500m open in 4:40.40, a new personal record.
That evening, Kylee Cubbison charged to a ninth place, school-record finish in the 1500m invite. The senior crossed the finish line in 4:15.16, bettering her previous mark by slightly more than a second. Close behind was Rachael Hoover, who set the second-fastest time in program history. She finished 19th in 4:16.91.
Reese Reaman rounded out the meet for Bowling Green, clocking in at 4:34.03.
The Falcons will split up next week, heading to Louisville for the Clark Wood Invitational from April 23-25 and to Grand Valley State for the GVSU Big Meet from April 24-25.
