Throughout the summer, the Bowling Green State University Athletics Department will be counting down the top 10 stories of the 2010-11 year. The list was compiled and voted on by members of the Athletics Department administration and Athletic Communications department. We'll release the list one at a time until announcing the No. 1 moment on Aug. 2.
Women's Basketball Wins MAC Tournament To Earn Bid To NCAA Tournament
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team won three games in four days to win the Mid-American Conference Tournament and earn the league's bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year. The Falcons beat Ohio 66-57 in the quarterfinals (CLICK HERE for game story) and beat Central Michigan 80-72 (CLICK HERE for game story) to advance to the championship game. In that contest, Bowling Green battled to a 51-46 win over Eastern Michigan (CLICK HERE for game story). Despite a loss to Georgia Tech in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Falcons ended the year with a record of 28-5.
