Today we announce the No. 7 story of the year:
New Leaders In Football (Babers) and Men's Basketball (Jans)
It's not often that a University hires a new football and men's basketball coach in the same year. In fact, since 1930, it had only happened two other times in BGSU Athletics history (with Don Nehlen and Bob Conibear beginning in the 1968-69 academic year and Moe Ankney and Jim Larranaga starting in the 1986-87 academic year). But first-year Athletics Director Chris Kingston hired a pair of innovative coaches with winning pedigrees in Dino Babers and Chris Jans. Babers, who turned around Eastern Illinois' football program, will run a system that has garnered the tag line #FalconFast. Jans comes to BGSU after serving as associate head coach at Wichita State, a program that went 35-1 just a year ago and earned a No. 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament as well as a No. 2 national ranking.
