Miller, Falcons Rand Among NCAA Three-Point Leaders

The NCAA has released the first Division I women's basketball statistics of the season, and Bowling Green State University is listed in several three-point shooting categories. Individually, sophomore Francine Miller (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida) ranks among the national leaders in three-point field-goal percentage, while as a team, the Falcons are listed among the top-10 in three-pointers made per game.
Through six games, Miller ranks fourth in the country with a three-point field-goal percentage of .682. She has made 15 treys in 22 attempts this season. The three players above Miller in the rankings have all attempted eight three-pointers or fewer this year.
As a team, the Falcons are tied for ninth in the nation in three-pointers made per game, having made an average of 8.2 treys per outing. BGSU has drained 49 three-pointers in the first six contests of the year, including a school-record 14 against Mississippi (Nov. 26).
The NCAA Division I statistics are released each week (generally late Tuesday or early Wednesday) during the season. Following next week's (Dec. 14) statistics, the next NCAA stats will be released Jan. 4, 2000. From that time on, stats will be released each week through March 4.
BGSU is 2-4 overall heading into Saturday's (Dec. 11) contest at Detroit. That game, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., will complete a five-game road swing for the Brown and Orange. BGSU, after taking a break for exams, will host Washington State on Monday, Dec. 20.
