Men's Track Team Opens Indoor Season

The Bowling Green State University men's track and field squad opened the indoor season at the Michigan State Quadrangular on Saturday. No team scores were compiled for the meet.
The Falcons had three individuals and one relay team win events.
Sophomore Ricco Oglesby (Columbus, Ohio/South) took the 60 in a time of 6.86 while senior teammate Rah'Sheen Clay (Cleveland, Ohio/Collinwood) was second in a time of 6.92. Clay took the 200 posting a time of 21.77 while Oglesby was third in the same event with a time of 22.56.
The other event winner was senior Pat Miller (Waterloo, Ind./DeKalb) in the 800 where his time of 1:55.74 was the best in a field of seven runners.
Clay and Miller formed half of the 1,600 relay team which captured that event in a time of 3:17.71. Joining the duo was freshman Zerian Peterson (Lima, Ohio) and junior Craig Schomer (Parma, Ohio/Normandy).
Besides Clay's second in the 60, senior Eric Browning (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers) was second in the high jump clearing 6-8 3/4 and Peterson was the runner-up in the 400 with a time of 50.25. Freshman Ed Stonestreet (McDonald, Ohio) also earned a second-place finish in the 800 with a time of 1:56.61.
The only other top four finishes turned in by BG athletes was a fourth-place finish by senior Pete Lisi (Wapakoneta, Ohio) in the 600 with a time of 1:23.08 and senior Dave Anderson (Kent, Ohio/Roosevelt) in the 800 with a time of 1:58.95.
