Women's Hoopsters Still Lead Nation In Three-Pointers

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The NCAA has released the latest Division I women's basketball statistics, and Bowling Green continues to be listed in a number of categories. As a team, the Falcons continue to lead the nation in three-point field goals made per game, with an average of 8.7 (NCAA stats through games of Monday, Jan. 24). Through 18 contests this season, BGSU has already set a school record by making a total of 156 three-pointers. The "old" school record of 135 successful three-pointers in a season was set just last winter. Additionally, BGSU is 16th in the nation in free-throw percentage, with a success rate of .747.
Individually, junior Angie Farmer (Wayland, Mich./Union) ranks among the national leaders in three-point field goals made per game. Farmer has made 50 in 18 contests, an average of 2.8 successful treys per outing. That average ties her for 19th in the nation.
Sophomore Francine Miller (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida) is 24th in the nation in three-point field-goal percentage, with a success rate of .449.
The NCAA Division I statistics are released each week (generally late Tuesday or early Wednesday) during the season. National stats will be released each week through March 4.
BGSU is 4-14 overall, and 2-6 in Mid-American Conference play, heading into tonight's (Jan. 26) contest vs. the University of Akron. That game will begin at 7:00 p.m. at BGSU's venerable Anderson Arena.
