The Falcons lost in three games to the #1 seeded Cardinals on their home court by scores of 15-6, 15-6, and 15-7. Melissa Lewis led the Falcons with 12 kills as no other player recorded more than six kills in the match which lasted one hour and twenty minutes.
The Falcons led 4-0 early in the first game, but Ball State, now 27-6 on the season, came back to take the lead for good at 6-5 and went on to win the game. BSU led all the way in the second game building a 4-0 lead and then scoring seven of eight points in one stretch to earn the second game victory. And Megan Hammons for Ball State had 10 of her game-high 19 kills in the third game to spearhead the win which puts them in the championship tilt against Western Michigan Saturday night.
The Falcons, who advanced to the MAC Tournament semifinals for the first time since 1993, ended the season with a 21-12 mark.
