Conover Ranked Among National Assist Leaders

The NCAA has released the latest Division I women's soccer statistics, and Bowling Green State University freshman Jill Conover (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) ranks among the national leaders in assists. Conover has six assists through seven matches, tying her for eighth in the nation with 0.86 assists per contest.
Conover, who was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week Tuesday (Sept. 21), has helped the Falcons to the team's first-ever 2-0-0 league start. BGSU defeated 1998 MAC Tournament semifinalist Kent by a 2-0 count last Wednesday (Sept. 15), then won a 3-2 decision at two-time defending MAC Tournament champion Northern Illinois Saturday (Sept. 18). Conover had a goal and an assist vs. KSU, and she scored a pair of goals at NIU.
On the season, Conover leads BGSU with five goals and six assists for 16 points. She has had a hand in 11 of BGSU's 17 goals, including four of the five in MAC play.
The NCAA Division I statistics will be released each week (generally Tuesday or Wednesday) through early November.
The Falcons (5-2-0 overall, 2-0-0 MAC) return to action Sunday (Sept. 26) with a home contest against Buffalo. That MAC match begins at 1:00 p.m. at BGSU's Cochrane Field.
