Kalamazoo, Mich. -
The Bowling Green State University men's soccer team evened its conference record at 1-1 with a 2-0 victory at Western Michigan Wednesday afternoon. The win improved BG's overall record to 4-6, while the Broncos fell to 4-8-1 overall and 0-3 in the Mid-American Conference.
Bowling Green's Chris Kraft scored his second match-winning goal of the campaign when he drilled in a shot at the 8:58 mark. Kraft had the match-winner in BG's 2-1 triumph at Detroit on Sept. 14.
Matt Lyons, who set up Kraft's goal, also assisted on Benjamin Vaccaro's first goal of the year at the 61:20 mark. With the two helpers, Lyons now leads the Falcons in scoring with 11 points on three goals and five assists.
Falcon freshman goalkeeper David DeGraff recorded his second shutout of the season by stopping both WMU shots. Bronco goalkeeper Nick Maryliw had four saves.
Bowling Green will host its first MAC match of the season on Saturday when the Thundering Herd of Marshall visit Cochrane Field for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
