Rommeck, Norris Still Ranked Among National Leaders

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The NCAA has released the latest volleyball statistics, and Bowling Green State University student-athletes are represented in several categories. Freshman Susie Norris (Bascom, Ohio/Hopewell-Loudon) and junior Caty Rommeck (Sterling Heights, Mich./Henry Ford II) are ranked in digs and blocks, respectively. The NCAA statistics are current through matches of Oct. 15.
Norris, a left-side hitter, is ranked 16th nationally with 4.17 digs per game. Rider's Evette Hoeffner paces the country with 5.66 digs per contest.
Rommeck, a middle hitter/blocker, is currently 14th in the country in blocks, averaging 1.53 blocks per game. BYU's Nina Puikkonen leads the nation with 1.81 blocks per game.
The Falcons (11-7 overall, 4-5 MAC) of head coach Denise Van De Walle will play a pair of home matches this week, beginning with tonight's (Oct. 18) contest vs. East Division-leading Ohio University. Then, BGSU will host Eastern Michigan University Friday (Oct. 20), with both matches set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at BGSU's venerable Anderson Arena.
