The Falcons improved to 4-2 in night home games at Perry Stadium when they defeated Eastern Michigan.

BLACKNEY MOVES UP IN THE MAC
Coach Gary Blackney, who will resign from his position following the conclusion of the 2000 season, moved into sixth place in career MAC victories (47) and eighth in overall wins (60) following the Falcons triumph against EMU. The third winningest coach in Falcon history, Blackney is 60-47-2 overall and 47-28-2 against conference opposition.
INDIVIDUAL STANDOUTS
With three receptions, junior wide receiver Kurt Gerling has now caught a pass in 26 straight games, the ninth longest streak in the country.
True freshman Josh Harris led the Falcons in rushing for the second straight game with 67 yards on 14 carries. He has now rushed for 199 yards on 36 carries and is averaging a team-high 5.5 yards per rush. All but two of his carries came from the quarterback position against Eastern Michigan.
Junior strong safety Sergio Lund led the Falcons with nine tackles and had a key sack and forced fumble in the second quarter.
Sophomore punter Pat Fleming had a season-best 45.3 punting average against EMU and placed two kicks inside the 20-yard line.
Junior kicker Mike Knapp has made his last three field goal attempts, including a 39-yard effort against EMU.
IN THE MAC
The Falcons have led in the fourth quarter in four of five games, and had seven chances inside the five to take a lead in the only game they did not own an advantage (Akron). The Falcons have held opponents to 77.4 rushing yards per game. The Falcons have outrushed their opponent in each game averaging 139 yards per game.
