Women's Golf Fourth Following First Round Of Austin Peay

The Bowling Green State University women's golf team is in fourth place after the opening day of the 2000 Austin Peay Precept Invitational at the Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn.
Austin Peay leads with a 315, while Tennessee Tech is second at 321 with Mercer in third at 330. The Falcons are fourth at 333, and are followed by Evansville (340), Jackson State (341), Samford (343), Montevallo (343), Belmont (349), Oakland (356) and IUPUI (365).
Freshman Jenny Schnipke and junior Shannon Smith each had rounds of 82 on Monday to lead BG. Sophomore Stephanie Elsea shot an 84, while classmate Shelley Binzel had an 85. Emily Hassen carded an 89.
The 18 holes on Tuesday will determine a women's champion, a men's champion and a school champion with 10 school having entered both a men's and women's team in the invitational.
